Maher crucifies ‘Prosecutor Jesus’ Mueller: ‘Bob, your trail of breadcrumbs isn’t good enough’

Democrats were head over heels in love with special counsel Robert Mueller for over two years. While he investigated the president for collusion with Russia in the 2016 presidential election, liberals serenaded him with ballads, produced folk hero memorabilia on his behalf and even named their children after him.

But not anymore …

Because Mueller refused to press charges against President Donald Trump for alleged Russian collusion and alleged obstruction of justice, some liberal Democrats are now loathing the investigator with a passion.

Among Mueller’s new haters is far-left comedian and commentator Bill Maher, who used his “New Rules” segment on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time” to excoriate the “Boy Scout” prosecutor for being “Clark Can’t” instead of “Superman.”

You can watch the fiery clip below:

“New rule: Just because you have a stone-face doesn’t mean you belong on Mount Rushmore,” the segment began as a picture of Mueller’s emotionless face appeared on the screen.

Maher continued, “For over two years America has had a crazy person in the White House, and for over two years the Democrats have done f–k-all about it because they were waiting for Mueller. We all sat around waiting for prosecutor Jesus to turn in his big report, and he came back with ask someone else. We needed Superman, and we got Clark Can’t.”

The “Clark Can’t” line earned big applause from Maher’s audience.

The Mueller report specifically exonerated the president on Russian collusion but issued no ruling on obstruction. Instead, the special counsel suspiciously left a possible pathway for impeachment over the president’s alleged efforts to intervene in the investigation.

Some Democrats believe these alleged efforts merit impeachment. Others say that they don’t, given that the entire investigation was predicated on lies. Moreover, the purpose of the investigation had been to root out Trump’s Russian collusion, which it turns out never even occurred.

“Trump calls the Mueller report the crazy report. In a way, he’s right because it’s over 400 pages detailing terrible crimes by a corrupt president, yet Mueller does not prosecute,” said Maher.

The Mueller report doesn’t actually detail “terrible crimes.” It details seemingly suspicious activity that, the special counsel eventually concluded, wasn’t substantive enough to warrant any charges being filed.

“Preet Bharara was on ‘Real Time’ the week that the Barr summary came out, and I had one burning question: Could a different prosecutor have reached a completely different conclusion? And he said yeah. That’s all I need to know,” Maher added a short while later.

The comedian then went after Mueller for playing his investigation “by the book.”

“I get it. Mueller’s a Boy Scout, a straight arrow, he played it by the book. But you may have noticed, for the past three years we’ve kind of been off-book, and greatness sometimes means not doing everything by the book.”

Not going “by the book” would have been a criminal act. Maher therefore appeared to be suggesting that Mueller should have committed a criminal act to prove that Trump had committed a criminal act — an alleged criminal act that the actual evidence suggests he never committed.

A startling number of Maher’s Twitter follows appear to agree with this disturbing “logic”:

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

Maher continued his rant by slamming Mueller’s “trail of bread crumbs”:

“Sometimes it comes down to you. The attorney general is corrupt, the Congress is dysfunctional. What good is leaving a road map for impeachment if you know a tribal, party-before-country Republican Senate will never remove the president?” said Maher. “Bob, your trail of bread crumbs isn’t good enough. We’re not that smart anymore. America is an aging shortstop. You have to hit it right at us.”

Maher then went on a bizarre tirade where he targeted Rudy Giuliani, one of Trump’s personal lawyers.

“Rudy Giuliani said this week there’s nothing wrong with taking information from Russians. That’s where we are now. I lay that on Mueller. From now on you can meet with foreign governments, invite them to hack your opponents, break campaign finance laws, as long it’s by reason of duh, ‘I’m plausibly too dumb to know what I was doing,'” he said

Trump never met with foreign governments or invited them to hack failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. On the other hand, many believe though that she did team up with the Democrat National Committee to pay a shady firm, Fusion GPS, to prepare a dossier of dirt on Trump.

This firm then contracted British spy Christopher Steele to dig up the dirt. Steele in turn then allegedly reached out to his contacts within the Russian government. It was through them that the debunked pee tape conspiracy emerged.

Maher has never once complained about Clinton using data from the Russians to attack Trump.
