MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough blasted members of the Trump administration and said it’s time to “take a stand” against the “knowable lies” they tell during TV interviews.
The “Morning Joe” hosts spoke with panelists about why news networks continue to feature interviews with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, suggesting a ban.
“Where does the media go from here? What is the guidance? What is the editorial guidance?” Brzezinski asked on Monday’s show, referring to claims that Sanders lied to the press during a briefing as revealed in part of Robert Mueller’s recently released redacted report. “But for us, the media, for journalists, do we interview Sarah Sanders? Do we put her on airwaves at this point? What happens to briefings if they ever come back? Where do we go with a situation like this?”

“This is another example of how this White House is different from all those that have come before it,” the Associated Press’ Jonathan Lemire declared, questioning if the same could be asked of Conway and wondering if she should be given airtime.
“But that’s why we don’t have Kellyanne on because it’s just literally 20 minutes of lies,” Brzezinski noted.
Scarborough interjected, wondering why Conway or Sanders would be given any airtime “if they know that they’re going to lie,” as he added Giuliani as well.
“This isn’t opinion, it isn’t subjective. You can stack their words up against words they’ve used in the past and they just lie and they do it openly and if they would like to get angry about that, we’d be glad to run clips all day tomorrow showing their lies,” Scarborough exclaimed.
“But the same thing with Rudy Giuliani. I was watching some hosts interview Rudy Giuliani and he was saying things that were just objectively false,” he continued.
“I sat there wondering ‘okay well if you’ve got to let this guy on despite the fact that he’s going to lie, why don’t you interrupt him and call out on every lie as they’re moving forward?’ I don’t understand. That’s not even-handed journalism,” Scarborough said. “That’s just allowing a propagandist to come on and tell knowable lies.”
The “Morning Joe” host clapped back at anyone accusing him of “elitism” after suggesting viewers get “educated to facts.”
“I don’t want anybody to think the way I tell them to think. I want them to actually read. I want them to actually go on Google. I want them to actually be armed with facts,” he said. “If that is elitism, if somebody considers that to be elitism, you’re in really sad shape. I’m just asking that they read facts, they go to their computer, their Google machine and see what actually is the truth.”
He then proposed White House staffers who “repeatedly lie” should not be invited to do the news show interviews.
“I don’t think reporters should have White House staff on who repeatedly lie,” he said. “We can’t have people coming on programs that are going to deliberately lie.”
“And six minutes talking about her lie and doubling down on her lie is time you don’t get back and are we a part of it if we continue to put people on like Sarah Sanders and Kellyanne Conway on television,” Brzezinski agreed.
“It’s time to take a stand. If she won’t step down, we need to step up,” she declared.
The hosts’ rant earned them plenty of mockery on Twitter where they were slammed for their amazing lack of self-awareness.
Why don’t we ban Joe and Mika.

They put “experts” up for over 2 years lying to their viewers and he thinks liars should be banned? Maybe we should start with Morning Joe.

But Brennan and Avenatti are OK? Got it
— Rick Nov (@gggwgggw) April 22, 2019
Lets see.. worst rated network calls for the banning of liars, which applies to most of media and most politicians, an expects somehow that the best rated network is going to take their advise? Now THAT is delusional. Without lies @MSNBC would literally have zero content.

Here you can see the liberals’ totalitarian mentality. They desperately NEED censorship so they can continue deceiving the public. Joe and his wife lied about Russian collusion for 2.5 years straight.

@JoeNBC like you and your silly echo chamber wife are paragons of virtue.
