Kamala plays dirty with Beto: Campaign hijacks search words, redirects fans to sign-up to look-a-like page

Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris thought she was slick.

On the very same day that the senator expressed excitement over fellow candidate Beto O’Rourke joining the 2020 race, telling an MSNBC host “the more the merrier,” a report emerged that Harris had been sneakily plotting against her new contender.

According to screenshots captured Thursday by Logan Dobson, who reportedly works for the Republican strategy firm Targeted Victory, Harris’s campaign purchased Google Ad campaigns for the keywords “Beto” and “America.” This means that anytime someone without an ad blocker issued a Google search query containing the words “Beto” and “America,” they’d see her campaign ad.

This itself is no big deal: “The issue isn’t running search ads against your opponent’s name — that’s super common and non-controversial!” Dobson noted.

What’s stunning is that the page Harris’s ad redirected users to appears to have been purposefully designed to trick users into thinking they’re signing up for O’Rourke’s campaign.

“[W]hen the user clicks [Harris’s ad] — intentionally or unintentionally — they’re taken to a KAMALA sign-up page,” Dobson explained. “But TWIST: the page has been doctored to match BETO’S black & white colors, and Kamala logo moved off to the side.”

And the proof that all this was done purposefully lies in the page’s URL:

The ad has since been removed, though the page remains online.

While what the senator did is neither illegal nor necessarily unethical, it’s a reminder of her incredible duplicity, especially in light of what she’d said earlier Thursday on MSNBC.

When asked by an anchor what she thinks of O’Rourke joining the race, she said, “As far as I’m concerned, the more the merrier … I think we have an embarrassment of riches among the Democrats who are running. We have incredible public servants who are smart, whose voices are important and I think it’s going to be a robust and a very healthy process, and I’m looking forward to it.”

It’s unclear whether she thinks using trickery to deceive voters is a “health” thing to do …

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

This isn’t Harris’s first act of duplicity, nor will it likely be the last. She’s told so many lies about her past work as a tough prosecutor that even CNN has been forced to call her out.

Case in point: During her 7-year stint as San Francisco’s DA, she publicly supported a policy enacted by then-Mayor Gavin Newsom that called for transferring illegal alien teens arrested for felonies over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. When questioned about this policy last month, she lied.

“That ended up being an unintended consequence of the policy and I did not support that consequence of that policy,” she said on “Political Party Live,” a podcast about Iowa politics.

But according to a report by CNN, everything she said was a lie, or as the network put it, a ‘mischaracterization’: “Reporting arrested undocumented juveniles to ICE was not an ‘unintended consequence’ of the policy, it was the policy.”

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!

She’s even allegedly lied about small stuff. During an appearance last month on The Breakfast Club, a New York-based morning radio show, she claimed that she used to listen to the music of rappers Snoop Dogg and Tupac while smoking marijuana in college. The problem is she graduated college long before Snoop Dogg and Tupac even emerged on the music scene, as noted by the hosts of “Fox & Friends”:

*facepalm*

Here’s some advice from America to Sen. Harris: STOP LYING.

And not just about her past. She needs to stop lying about everything:

Harris should also consider cutting it out with the dirty tricks …

(Not to mention the fake smiles!)
