A growing body of evidence suggests that anti-Semitic Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar doesn’t just view Israel negatively — she views America negatively as well.
It’s ironic and troubling given that the United States of America is responsible for the upscale life she and her peers enjoy as members of Congress. How so? During the height of the Somali Civil War in the 1990s, the U.S. allowed her impoverished family to escape to the states as refugees.
Here she was provided the type of life only dreamed about by the denizens of Somali, who on average earn a paltry 150,000 Somali Shillings (or $258.62) per month. Yet all Omar appears capable of doing is trash-talking America, according to the New York Post.
During an appearance last December on “Pod Save America,” for instance, she complained about the allegedly unjust and deplorable conditions here in the states.
She said that during the refugee orientation process, she was shown a video that depicted “happy families, and dinner tables where there is an abundance of food, images of happy young children running off to their school buses … images of a country where people are happy and leading a life that is prosperous.”
But when her family arrived in the states, she discovered that, much like every other country on Earth, America has its own fair share of homeless, particularly in big metropolitans. And that discovery, according to her, means that America is apparently a hellhole.
Listen:
“I saw panhandlers on the side of the streets, there being trash everywhere, and graffiti on the side of the walls,” she complained. “I remember turning to my father and saying, ‘Well, this doesn’t look like the America you promised!”
This attitude speaks to the entitlement often seen among certain classes of immigrants — both legal and illegal — who believe they’re owed a great life versus the opportunity to earn a great life. Stunningly, the now 37-year-old adult woman still feels this way.
“The current reality that people live in … an America where you can’t access the justice system equally because you are born with a different race, or a different gender, or are born into a different class, that isn’t the America that I heard about, that isn’t the America that I watched,” she said.
She added that it’s this alleged inequality and injustice that she hopes to fix as a congresswoman. It’s unclear how constantly spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric fits into this plan.
Similar rhetoric can be seen on her social media feed:
Our homeless crisis is America’s dirty little secret.
This year we’ll spend around 700 Billion on the military. With an investment of up to 20 billion we could house every homeless person in the US.

In the richest country in the world there’s no reason we can’t guarantee the right to affordable quality housing to everyone in the U.S.
And in 116th Congress, this should be a top priority! #HousingCrisis

We shouldn’t revise history. We’re a country built on stolen land and the backs of slaves. Independence Day allows us to reflect on how far we’ve come and how much farther we have to go.
Leveraging our voice to fight for justice is as American as it gets. Happy 4th of July ??

The U.S. has a history of disastrous interventions in Latin America. Glad to have colleagues who are willing to speak up so that history doesn’t repeat itself! https://t.co/sWzBbGM94X

Note how the latter two tweets referenced America’s history. Despite the country rising up from its dark past, the congresswoman remains committed to both forever impugning its character.
During a House Foreign Affairs Committee last month, she falsely accused the administration of former President Ronald Reagan of complicity in war crimes that were committed decades ago by U.S.-armed factions in El Salvador. Her goal had been to draw a connection between the bad actions of a few rotten apples and the United States’ foreign policy in the Latin American nation. But as noted by the Trump administration’s Special Envoy for Venezuela, Elliott Abrams, it was a false premise.
“From the day that President Duarte was elected in a free election to this day, El Salvador has been a democracy. That’s a fabulous achievement,” he said, referencing the U.S.-backed El Salvadoran president who helped lead the nation out of the Salvadoran Civil War.
Suffice it to say, America helped transformed El Salvador into a democracy. You’re welcome.
Watch his back-and-forth exchange with Omar below:
From portraying America as a backwards country teeming with poor people (false) to distorting American history and complaining about not receiving the America she was allegedly “promised,” the congresswoman’s behavior reeks of someone with a grudge.
To be fair, it’s a grudge shared by everyone in the modern Democrat Party.
“The American Dream once referred to the aspirations of Americans to provide better lives for their children. For the left, that idea has come to mean the intentions of anyone, anywhere, who wants to come here,” the New York Post noted.
To come here and be granted a perfect life free of consequence and personal responsibility.
Except that’s not how America was designed to be, according to social media, and if Omar can’t accept that, then maybe she should return home and try her socialist schemes there:
Impeach her!!! She hates America & all we stand for. @IlhanMN Go back to your own country and try your socialist utopia there. We don’t want it!
