The Democrat congresswoman made this sentiment clear during a House Ways and Means Committee hearing Wednesday about how the middle-class is faring in Trump’s booming economy.
After Republican congressman Darin Lahood reportedly read off a list of the president’s stunning accomplishments, Moore read the list back to him while adding a telling “blah blah blah.”
“My good friend and my good colleague Mr. LaHood waxed on about the health of the economy.,” she said. “It’s growing faster than ever. GDP is great. Employment is at an all-time low.”
“African Americans are doing well, Hispanics are doing well. Wages are rising at the fastest pace in ten years. Blah, blah, blah. Ninety percent of all taxpayers over all income categories received a tax cut under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And so on and so forth.”
What was that supposed to mean?
According to several notable conservatives, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, it’s a sign that neither Moore nor her Democrat peers in Congress actually care about the middle class.
From the party that claims to be #ForThePeople:
“GDP is great, unemployment is at an all-time low, African Americans are doing well, Hispanics are doing well, wages are rising at the fastest pace in ten years–BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.” – @RepGwenMoore

.@RepGwenMoore just dismissed President Trump’s HISTORIC accomplishments
She says record low
& female unemployment
And even record wage growth are just “blah blah blah”

#TrumpDerangementSyndrome. Why should congressional black democrat @RepGwenMoore care that black unemployment reached an all time low–since it means giving @realDonaldTrump credit? https://t.co/My4zxtMXkc

The Wisconsin congresswoman has pushed back on these allegations, writing in tweets that her words have been taken out of context and that her point had been that these are all allegedly superficial gains that hide the reality of the so-called “TaxScam.”
As usual, the @GOP takes things out of context to mislead Americans.
If @GOPLeader posted the full witness testimony about the state of the middle class, he’d be exposed for his #TaxScam which gives all the ? to #WallStreet while Main Street suffers. #FakeNews https://t.co/2Lg92QtO6z

?? Meanwhile, Democrats grew the economy, shrunk the deficit, & gave everyone healthcare. Thanks, Obama! pic.twitter.com/NfWEj3S9B9

More stunningly, she believes that former President Barack Hussein Obama’s administration “grew the economy” more than the administration of Trump.
The president’s son Donald Trump Jr. is not impressed by this outlandish assertion.
If over his entire presidency Obama had accomplished 10% of what @realDonaldTrump for these groups the left would anoint him emperor for life. When Trump does it in less than 2 years it’s Blah Blah Blah. What a joke! https://t.co/BBUkcWgtS9

The facts align with what he wrote.
Forbes confirmed in 2016 that the “the 2009-15 recovery since the recession ended in June of 2009 has been the meekest in more than 50 years.” And while Obama never once achieved a 3% GDP growth rate, Trump had managed to score a 3.1% annual growth rate by last summer.
As noted by White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders two years ago, these gains have manifested specifically because of the president’s pro-business rhetoric and actions.
“This is all a direct result not just of President Trump’s swearing-in, but from the minute he was elected, consumer confidence got stronger, and businesses wanted to participate in our economy again because they have confidence in this president,” she said at the time.
This isn’t the first time Moore has spouted off lies. She’s been doing so since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 was signed into law late that year.
The @GOP made a lot of promises about their tax plan:
They promised us it would pay for itself ?
They projected 4-7% growth ?
They told us it would create jobs ???
Now, this #GOPTaxScam is about to become law, it is all too clear that none of these promises are true.

Even more damning, 86 MILLION middle class families will actually see their taxes go up. @SpeakerRyan‘s policies are nothing short of shameful.

Lies upon lies upon lies …
Data shows that 80 percent of middle-class families with children received a tax cut. Data also suggests that the tax cuts may have paid for themselves due to increased revenue.
