Joe Biden: Rush Limbaugh and ‘the conservative blonde woman’ are influencing Trump. No sexism here.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, a man known for his loud mouth, may have single-handedly damaged his chances of potentially winning the 2020 Democrat presidential election primary.

How so? By running his notoriously gaffe-prone mouth, as usual …

Speaking with a reporter about the government shutdown, which he naturally blames on President Donald Trump (though it’s actually Democrats who caused it), the former VP pointed to two specific conservative commentators for their allegedly negative influence on the president.

“Republicans overwhelmingly voted to keep the government open, then Rush Limbaugh and the conservative blonde woman says he’s losing his base, and so he’s changed his mind,” Biden said.

Listen:

He was wrong. While Senate Republicans did pass a stop-gap bill that would have averted a government shutdown, House Republicans passed their own omnibus spending bill that would have done the same in addition to funding a southern U.S. border wall.

Because of obstruction by Senate Democrats, including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, that bill remains perpetually stalled. As a result, the government entered into a shutdown on Dec. 22.

Second, that “conservative blonde woman” Biden referenced has a name — most people suspect he was referring to conservative commentator Ann Coulter — and his refusal to address the so-called “conservative blonde woman” by her name upset a lot of people, including his fellow Democrats.

To them, his dismissal of Coulter as just some “conservative blonde woman” reeked of sexism and misogyny, which is a big no-no for a party that purports to be champions of women.

Look:

Leave it to the one and only Joe Biden to offend his own party. And this only a month after he touted himself as “the most qualified” Democrat to take on Trump in 2020.

“I’ll be as straight with you as I can: I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president,” he said at a book tour stop last month at the University of Montana. “The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that have been in my wheelhouse, that I’ve worked on my whole life.”

“No one should run for the job unless they believe that they would be qualified doing the job. I’ve been doing this my whole adult life, and the issues that are the most consequential relating to the plight of the middle class and our foreign policy are things that I have — even my critics would acknowledge, I may not be right but I know a great deal about it.”

While that’s all fine and dandy, the former VP should keep in mind going forward that no amount of qualifications will save him if the Democrat base decides he’s a sexist.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

As it stands, many among the base already view him as a sexist pig. In a column two years ago, one HuffPost columnist warned, “Joe Biden 2020 is a terrible idea in a post-Weinstein America.”

Why? In part because of his creepy behavior, which has included commenting on the attractiveness of women and grabbing/groping women and children without their approval.

A compilation of some of that behavior may be seen below:

To stand even a slight chance of winning the 2020 primary — let alone defeating Trump — Biden will have to somehow shed this image of a creep and sexist. And so far he’s not doing a good job at that, according to social media.
