Tucker Carlson said Democrat Senator Charles Schumer “hated” being berated like a child by President Trump during a heated debate over border wall funding.
“If body language is any indication, Chuck Schumer has never hated anything in his whole life more than he hated that moment you just saw,” Carlson said on his Fox News show.
Tucker — who criticizes Trump when he disagrees with him — gave props to the president for standing firm on the need for Congress to fund a border wall and for taking responsibility for a government shutdown if the wall is not properly financed.
“Trump said he would be proud to take responsibility for the government shutting down, because a wall is too important,” Tucker underscored.
Schumer comically argued that a border wall would not work. Oh really?? Just ask China about how well their Great Wall worked to protect them against invasions. Similarly, ask Israel about their wall.
“If you really want to find out how effective a wall is, just ask Israel,” Trump told Schumer. “It’s 99.9% effective. Our wall will be every bit as good as that, if not better.”
Schumer — who has spent the past two years obstructing Trump at every turn — then railed against the president over his threats to shut down the government if he doesn’t get proper wall funding.
“We shouldn’t shut down the government over a dispute,” Schumer said.
Trump retorted: “The last time, Chuck, you shut it down. I don’t want to do what you did.”
While Democrats and the left-wing media are slamming President Trump as a racist xenophobe for wanting to stem illegal immigration and build a border wall, they conveniently forget that many Democrats supported a border wall and immigration reform as recently as 2009, when Barack Obama was president.
Here’s then-Senator Obama preaching against illegal immigration in 2005:
“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants into this country.”

Obama and Schumer aren’t the only Democrat Party leaders who were once applauded for holding the same immigration stances that President Trump is now smeared for enforcing.
In 1995, president Bill Clinton received a standing ovation at a State of the Union address when he slammed illegal immigration:
“All Americans are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers.
That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders.”
