A left-wing “journalist” unwittingly proved this week why President Donald Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S. southern border is a necessary tool in the fight against illegal immigration.
Speaking live Wednesday from Tijuana — where thousands of migrants, many of them reportedly young men affiliated with gangs, congregated to seek asylum — “journalist” Jorge Ramos admitted that the migrants are now hoping to exploit the lack of a border wall to simply cross illegally into the U.S.
“If you go five miles that way or 25 miles that way, the wall that you see behind me disappears. If they don’t see a legal possibility of applying for political asylum, they’re just going to go a few miles… [and] they are going to try to do it illegally,” he said to CNN host Anderson Cooper.
Listen to the whole discussion below:
He described this as a “more intelligent” way for the migrants, whom he staunchly believes deserve automatic entry into the United States, to ultimately gain citizenship.
“The Trump administration is only processing about 100 asylum applications, and with that it’ll take months for many of the people over here just to go to the United States legally. So many are trying illegal ways to get into the United States,” he argued.
The administration of President Donald Trump has been processing claims slowly to force the migrants to wait and inspire some of them to just give up and return home.
“Let me just say this: Trump is the wall for them, because they realize that they cannot go to the United States legally … and they also understand that they might face tear gas again,” he continued.
Ramos was recounting what happened on Sunday, when a horde of migrants attempted to storm the San Ysidro Port of Entry and attack U.S. Border Patrol agents. Federal authorities resisted the charge by applying tear gas.
Some footage from the stampede may be seen below:
“They learn very fast, so they are not trying to go in mass again to the American side. But they are doing something completely different and probably more intelligent,” Ramos added.
And that “more intelligent” action is this: Exploiting the lack of a full border wall (only a select few spots along the border have a wall at the moment) to illegally cross into the U.S.
It’s unclear whether the left-wing Univision “journalist” realizes that he basically admitted that were a wall present along the entire border, it would in fact work to prevent illegal immigration.
While he may not realize it yet, many on social media do:
Jorge proves exactly why we need a freaking wall. Thanks, amigo.

The irony is that Ramos is among a legion of left-wing activists who’ve claimed that the president’s proposed border wall would do nothing to curb illegal immigration.
“[I]t makes no sense to build a wall, even for security reasons. Here’s why. About four out of every 10 undocumented immigrants come legally, many by plane, and then over stay their visas. No wall can stop that, no matter how long or tall it is. Unfortunately, Donald Trump doesn’t believe that is true,” he opined in an op-ed last year.
He added that a wall would “only give a false sense of security” because most illegal immigrants allegedly enter the United States legally through a port of entry.
And yet he just admitted Wednesday that migrants unwilling to wait for their chance at asylum are exploiting the lack of a border wall to just cross into the United States.
Congratulations on busting your own false narrative, Mr. Ramos.
