Contrary to the wall-to-wall negative coverage by the mainstream media of the crisis at the U.S. southern border, Sinclair Broadcast Group had its local news outlets air a staunch defense of Border Patrol’s actions.
About 200 local news stations owned and operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group aired a segment in which former Trump staffer and Sinclair’s Chief Political Analyst Boris Epshteyn spoke about the events that unfolded Sunday as Border Patrol was forced to used tear gas to disperse rock-throwing members of a migrant caravan who rushed the U.S. border.
“The migrant crisis on our southern border has greatly escalated,” Epshteyn began as video footage of the violence was played.
He blasted “some on the left, such as Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters” who “were immediately up in arms about our president and his team standing up for our men and women in uniform and for our national security.”
“The fact of the matter is that this is an attempted invasion of our country. Period,” Epshteyn continued.”Our border must remain intact and secure.”
“It is not a partisan position to believe that our immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed. However, it unfortunately appears that there are many on the left who believe it is wrong to defend our country and abide by the rule of law,” he added. “I would bet that many of those same people live behind walls and locked doors but do not want to afford the same benefit to our country as a whole.”
Epshteyn concluded by noting that allowing the migrants to crash the border is “ludicrous and dangerous.”
“Here’s the bottom line: The notion that a caravan of migrants can be allowed to break through our borders is ludicrous and dangerous,” he said. “The United States of America should not and cannot be intimidated by those willing to use force to get into our country illegally.”
The Maryland-based Sinclair Broadcasting Group reportedly gave the “must run” segment to its local television stations to run, according to Business Insider.
“The company distributes ‘must-run; segments to its newsrooms, requiring they air them within 48 hours” which “typically feature conservative commentary, including a recurring segment from former Donald Trump official Boris Epshteyn,”according to SeattlePi.com,
Liberal critics slammed the move by the media giant, claiming in many headlines that the company “forced” its stations to defend tear-gassing women and children.
“This segment will now be forcibly aired, often spliced into local news coverage, on an estimated 100 Sinclair-owned or -operated news stations throughout the country as part of the media giant’s infamous “must-run” lineup,” left-wing Media Matters warned.
Media Matters’ Pam Vogel accused Epshteyn of borrowing “language from Trump himself.”
The segment also borrows language from Trump himself (and other branches of the pro-Trump media tree), calling the caravan “an attempted invasion”

Naturally the left is quick to condemn any pro-Trump reporting that would fly in the face of their liberal agenda, even if that means distorting reports about what is really unfolding at he southern U.S. border. Agents stepped up to reveal the violence they faced as the mainstream media continued to portray the members of the migrant caravan as peaceful asylum seekers, many who are women and children.
The same media has selective amnesia as it chooses to ignore the use of pepper spray on violent migrants who tried to rush the same San Ysidro port of entry back in 2013, under former President Obama’s administration. And while the left is outraged over any negative coverage of the caravan, a report from the Center for Immigration Studies revealed that more than a dozen suspected terrorists, or others connected to Islamic militant groups, have been arrested after trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
An MSNBC correspondent on the ground just over the border seemed to actually be doing his job when he reported Tuesday that many of the caravan members are mostly men who are not actually seeking asylum.

It seems the left is kicking a hole in its own narrative even while condemning those who are attempting to report the truth.
