With the help of CNN, ‘Democrats finally found their midterm message,’ and it couldn’t be more fitting

The tenor of the left-wing media’s “get out the vote” message this year appears to suggest the media have learned nothing from the devastating loss they collectively suffered in 2016.

Take the message of CNN, which on Friday published an op-ed in wherein feminist Wednesday Martin essentially urged women to use a “sex strike before the midterms” to dictate their partners’ votes.

“It’s time for a revolution,” Martin wrote. “At the polls, and in the bedroom. And in our understanding of who women are, sexually and otherwise. Given the tight interweaving of economic and political power with sexual entitlement, female sexual autonomy has never been more urgent, and women’s sexual pleasure has never been more political.”

“Let’s consider what it might mean to go on a sex strike of sorts — to get what we want, rather than give what we think we owe others,” she added, the implication seemingly being that women should use sex to coerce a vote against Republicans from their husbands.

This rhetoric bears a striking similarity to to that of the “Vote Trump, Get Dumped”campaign waged two years ago by left-wing activists. Proudly touted by the left-wing media, the movement had centered on encouraging women to not “date, sleep with or canoodle with” anyone who planned to vote for then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Though the movement cleared failed, as evidenced by Trump’s successful election, CNN apparently now seeks to revive it in a desperate last-minute attempt to alter the results of the upcoming midterms.

“[T]he idea of a sex strike suggests exciting possibilities beyond the bedroom. What would not just sex but the world look like if we prioritized what women want in every sex act?” Martin’s op-ed continued.  “How might the political, social, and sexual landscapes all shift if we acknowledged that in many cases, the server is unsatisfied — and actually believed it was important to set things right?”

“Dilbert” creator and proud conservative Scott Adams appeared to find her plea funny: “Democrats finally found their midterm message,” he sarcastically tweeted Saturday, the joke being that this is the most substantive message that the message-less, just-hate-Trump left has shared this election season.

Look at his tweet and others below:

What’s wrong with CNN and Martin are that they seem to believe using manipulative tricks to force others to behave in their desired ways is somehow OK. It’s not.

“I’m so tired of these think pieces demanding women withhold sex for whatever cause is popular at the moment,” a Twitter user named Martin noted.

“How about we have some pieces about how nice it would be if men and women respected each other and didn’t try to play manipulative games to score cheap political points.”

While that’d certainly be nice, for it to happen the left would first have to get over their rampant Trump Derangement Syndrome. And given that they still remain afflicted by this disorder two whole years after Trump’s election, that’s simply not apt to happen.
