Megyn Kelly back at Fox News? Pundits take sides as ‘sources’ claim she’s on the move

The rumor mill is swirling furiously that Megyn Kelly has been fired at NBC after the controversial comments she made about blackface, but could she end up back at Fox News?

According to Vanity Fair sources, Kelly’s relationship with NBC had soured and she has been looking for a way out before this week’s media-fueled controversy — Kelly has never been forgiven for saying “Santa is white.”

Two anonymous Fox News sources told the magazine Kelly told friends she wanted to return to the network and they said she began making on air remarks that would help “burnish her right-wing credentials for a prospective Fox homecoming,” Vanity Fair reported.

Her coverage of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process was cited.

But Vanity Fair suggested that Fox News doesn’t seem interested in welcoming her back.

A source close to Lachlan Murdoch, C.E.O. of Fox News’s parent company “New Fox,” said he is “extremely pleased with the current lineup.” Two high-level Fox staffers said any final decision about Kelly would be made by Lachlan and his father, Rupert Murdoch the company chairman.

The Daily Mail said that it “looks like Kelly could be heading for a homecoming of sorts.”

**Update: On Friday, Daily Mail was notified by an informed source that Kelly will not be coming back to Fox News.

“A network news insider tells DailyMail.com that there are tentative conversations underway about Kelly returning to Fox News or its new online venture Fox Nation, whose viewers despise what they perceive as ‘political correctness’ and would likely welcome her back with open arms,” the British tabloid reported.

However, Joe Concha, media reporter for The Hill, tweeted that the network doused any such suggestion.

“‘We are extremely happy with our entire line-up,’ a Fox News spokesperson tells me regarding a Daily Mail story that said Megyn Kelly was already in opening talks to return to the network,” he tweeted

Geraldo Rivera announced online that he hopes Kelly does return to Fox News.

Smarmy liberal Kirsten Powers, who appears to have been overcome by the guilt of her “white privilege,” wrote an op-ed on Kelly’s “history of racist comments” and how they have been “whitewashed.”

“Her meteoric rise could not have happened without the complicity of a system that is far too comfortable with racism,” Powers claimed, “especially when it comes in a pretty white package.”

Envy much?

She also responded to a tweet from conservative film maker Dinesh D’Souza that dumped on NBC News to smear millions on the right as racists, suggesting they like Kelly again because of the trumped up controversy.

“The right likes Megyn Kelly again … all it took was defending blackface,” Powers tweeted.

But then, Benghazi hero Kris Paronto, an Army Ranger, summed up the concept of  white liberals sacrificing others for acceptance quite well:
