Trump scolds GOP leadership: Democrats are playing you ‘like a fiddle’ by stalling on border wall

President Trump scolded Republicans for their inaction on financing the border wall and said they’re being “played like a fiddle” by Democrats, who want open borders and mass illegal immigration in order to inflate their voting bloc.

“When will Republican leadership learn that they are being played like a fiddle by the Democrats on border security and building the wall?” Trump tweeted. “Without borders, we don’t have a country. With open borders, which the Democrats want, we have nothing but crime! Finish the wall!”

President Trump’s fiery tweet comes amid months of inaction by Congress to finance the border wall and take definitive steps to curb illegal immigration.

In May 2018, Trump ordered 2,000 to 4,000 National Guard troops to patrol America’s southern border. For the record, both Barack Obama and George W. Bush also deployed the National Guard to the border in 2010 and 2006 for the same reason.

By June, President Trump’s orders were obstructed after at least five governors (from Colorado, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts and Virginia) refused to send National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

illegal immigration costs $113 billion

While liberals are slamming President Trump as a racist for wanting to stem the tsunami of illegal aliens crossing the border, they conveniently ignore that most top Democrats — including Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, and Bill Clinton —  previously supported enhanced border security and cracking down on illegal immigration.

Here’s former president Bill Clinton in 1995:

“All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.

The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers.

That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens.

We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we’ve seen, and we must do more to stop it.”

In 2005, when Barack Obama was a senator, he opposed illegal immigration and supported border security and the mass deportation of illegals.

Obama echoed similar positions in policy speeches in 2010, 2013, and 2014, when he said (excerpt below):

“Today, our immigration system is broken, and everybody knows it. Families who enter our country the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules.

Business owners who offer their wages good wages benefits see the competition exploit undocumented immigrants by paying them far less.

All of us take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards of living in America without taking on the responsibilities of living in America.

Even as we are a nation of immigrants, we’re also a nation of laws. Undocumented workers broke our immigration laws, and I believe that they must be held accountable, especially those who may be dangerous.”

And here is today’s Radical Left, which aggressively panders to illegals by saying American taxpayers should be grateful for the privilege of financially supporting their unlawful existence in the United States.
