Dershowitz to Scarborough: Enough with one-sided attacks. Do you have ‘the guts’ to debate face-to-face?

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz issued a challenge to Joe Scarborough after the MSNBC host mocked his claims of being shunned.

The longtime liberal, appearing on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Thursday, called on Scarborough to invite him on his show if he “has the guts” to let him respond to the “unfair” attacks against him.

“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski slammed Dershowitz’s recent opinion piece for The Hill in which he claimed the liberal elite are “trying to ban me from their social life on Martha’s Vineyard.”

Dershowitz believes he is being ostracized because of his defense of President Trump’s constitutional rights, though he clarified he would defend those same rights for anyone, regardless of party.

“He has been Donald Trump’s mouthpiece,” Scarborough said on his MSNBC show Thursday. “He has been Donald Trump’s bullhorn in attacking Robert Mueller.”

“Oh! Can you believe it? He can’t even go to Martha’s Vineyard. This is wrong,” Brzezinski added sarcastically, calling the retired law professor “a shill and a stooge.”

“As my grandmother would say, Alan, when you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas,” Scarborough mocked.

Dershowitz, who told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson a Martha’s Vineyard woman recently threatened to “stab me through the heart” over his comments on Special Counsel Robert Mueller, said the cold shoulder he is getting from liberals is “backfiring.”

Accusing MIT professor, Nicholas Negroponte, of organizing the campaign against him on the island off the coast of Massachusetts, the Constitutional law scholar said the “hard left radicals” are only helping Trump with their behavior.

“The vast majority of people, even in Martha’s Vineyard, can’t stand people that who try to stop speech and debate, so it’s backfiring. But the other point that’s very important, is they did this to try to hurt me, but the end result is they are helping Donald Trump. They are strengthening Donald Trump’s hand. The people that try to shun me are giving Donald Trump and his base an argument about what the radicals are doing.”

Dershowitz concluded by calling out Scarborough and his cohorts for the personal attacks.

“By the way, I challenge ‘Morning Joe’ to have me on the show when he mocks me so I can respond,” Dershowitz challenged. “It’s easy, and kind of unfair, to attack someone and not give them the opportunity to respond.”

“Let’s see if he has the guts to put me on the show so I can tell his viewers the truth,” he said.
