Eric Trump attributes being in “the right place at the right time” for his timely aid to a woman who collapsed on a New York City street.
President Trump’s son reportedly rushed to the aid of the woman who passed out near a train station last week, dodging traffic as he attempted to stop a passing ambulance, according to the Washington Examiner.
The unidentified woman had reportedly collapsed outside of the subway station near 57th Street and 6th Avenue last Wednesday when Trump and his security detail jumped in to help, according to a witness.
“I watched as Eric looked up, spotted an ambulance slowly passing by on 6th, ran into traffic — almost getting hit by a bicyclist — and shouted at the ambulance to get its attention,” one witness said, according to the Washington Examiner, which felt the need to clarify the person had “no ties to Trump.”
“Not sure if the ambulance had been called for or if Eric managed to hail one out of the blue, but in any case his sense of urgency was clear and he succeeded in getting the paramedics to stop and tend to the woman,” the tipster added.
Trump apparently left the scene once the paramedics took over to help the woman.
“I don’t know if anyone really noticed all of this going on, there wasn’t a crowd of people watching,” the witness noted of the good Samaritan role played by the 34-year-old who is the Trump Organization’s executive vice president of development and acquisitions.
“I’m glad we were able to play a small role in getting help for the woman on 58th Street,” Trump told The Washington Examiner on Monday.
“We just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I’m especially grateful to the EMTs who took over. It was certainly my first time hailing an ambulance in New York City,” he added.
Trump never made mention of the incident on social media, and the good deed almost seemed to go unnoticed. Naturally, Trump critics found a way to trash the entire incident, with the now-expected hateful insults and slurs hurled on social media. Some even questioned the authenticity of the story.
