‘You’re going to get prosecuted!’ Independent journo rattles Comey at book signing, protesters grow

Former FBI Director James Comey took his show on the road, making an appearance at a bookstore where he was confronted by protesters and one determined journalist.

Comey insisted his new book, “A Higher Loyalty,” was not about President Trump, while telling an audience at a New York City Barnes and Noble bookstore on Wednesday night why he wrote it.

“What we face today is a situation where lying has become so normal that when I wake up in the morning and see the president of the United States has called for my imprisonment, I actually shrug,” he said, according to Newsweek. “And then I stop myself and say, ‘Wait a minute, that shrug means you’re becoming numb to something that is not ok, that is not normal.'”

Comey spoke for about 20 minutes and took questions from the public for the first time.

Then, conservative journalist Laura Loomer, who was in the audience, took aim and fired off at the former FBI chief.

“Hey, Mr. Comey! Hey,” Loomer shouted out, asking him about the ethics of the infamous dossier of unverified and salacious allegations about Trump and why Comey did not reveal to the president that the opposition research was paid for by his opponent.

“You are not an ethical leader,” she continued as the crowd began to boo. “Today, Mr. Comey, 11 lawmakers filed a criminal referral against you.”

Security approached Loomer and could be heard saying, “Ma’am, you’re going to have to leave.”

“You’re going to get prosecuted, Comey! You’re gonna get locked up!” she yelled as she was escorted out of her seat. She continued to repeat her accusations as people could be heard shouting at her to get out and be quiet.

Buzzfeed reporter, Tasneem Nashrulla, also captured the moment on video.

Another person, later identified as Sunsara Taylor according to Newsweek, soon interrupted Comey’s talk as she unfurled a banner and shouted about fascism. She was escorted out as well.

And those who did not get inside the bookstore lined up outside to protest.

Loomer was showered with praise on social media as conservatives applauded her chutzpah and launched a new term.

Loomer herself reacted on Twitter to some of the comments and praise as well as being called a “far-right” activist.

Comey has another book tour stop in New York scheduled for Thursday before he moves on to other cities, including Chicago, San Francisco and Miami. Loomer may not be on hand to level truth bombs at those events but she may have inspired others to follow her lead.
