Amid reports that President Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen, who may be under criminal investigation, plans to plead the 5th in his legal battle with porn star Stormy Daniels, some would have you believe Cohen is “rolling over in fear.”
But that would not be consistent with an image shared online that captured Cohen at a random moment.
Social media users were certain that Cohen must be busy sweating bullets, as seen below.
“Michael Cohen is preparing to plead the 5th in the Stormy Daniels Civil case…. This basically means Stormy Daniels will win, and that Cohen is rolling over in fear over the likely forthcoming criminal proceedings. Huge victor for Stormy! Big time loss for Trump/Cohen!”
CNN also reported on Friday that the prerequisite anonymous “source” said the FBI seized recordings the attorney made of his conversations with a lawyer representing Daniels, who was paid $130,000 to remain quiet about an alleged fling with Trump.
And it appears the media is stalking his every move amid the whirlwind of activity.
Nonetheless, Cohen sure doesn’t act like he’s worried, as seen on Friday when he was spotted sitting outside the Loews Regency in New York City chillin’ like Fonzie.
CNN’s Elizabeth Landers tweeted a photo of the moment, along with the caption: “Photo of Michael Cohen taken by my NY colleague Lawrence Crook- who reports that he’s sitting outside the Loews Regency now with a group of friends smoking cigars.”

Initial reports that Cohen was enjoying a cigar himself appear to be inaccurate, as CNN justice correspondent Evan Perez noted .
(Think the cable news network might be obsessed with all things Trump???)
Michael Cohen is spending a lovely 80-degree day sitting on bench outside his Manhattan hotel, smoking a cigar. Tells photogs he wants to send his mom all the great pics they have of him. #cantmakethisup

To correct my earlier tweet, Cohen was chilling with group of men smoking cigars — while a judge was chastising his lawyers downtown. Mr. Cohen doesn’t smoke. It’s bad for your health #psa

The reactions online are hilarious, though a bit unhinged at times. A common theme seemed to center on the mafia… but then, to hear fired FBI director James Comey tell it, President Trump is a mob boss, so what do you expect?
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
Hot town, summer in the city

Choen’s practicing for yard at Florence FCI. You can get cigars from Commissary. If you have money in your inmate account.
Just sayin’. https://t.co/3VjE2ESF3V

This looks like a mafia scene. Probably because it is. https://t.co/HjGMKtaesR

Looks to me like the kind of final send-off the mob gives to someone going to the pen for life.
Or maybe someone about to be taken for a drive out to the woods. https://t.co/3Wb3uM4SsH

Bet Cohen's reality star "client" directed him to appear in public, cool as a cucumber. But, according to @MichaelAvenatti on @AriMelber, the judge wasn't amused that Cohen didn't appear w/his attorneys in court today. Can't wait til she sees this pic. https://t.co/uedJIjQ6YU

Wonder if Stormy Daniels recognizes anyone else in the photo. https://t.co/RvF6b2kDQK
