In case you have an insatiable desire for liberal hand wringing, Democrats and leftists have scheduled at least six individual responses to President Donald Trump’s state of the union address Tuesday night.
Democratic Rep. Joe Kennedy (yes, those Kennedys) will be giving the Democratic Party’s official response immediately following the conclusion of the president’s speech, right from the heartland in Kennedy’s home state of Massachusetts.
¿No habla inglés? No problemo. Virginia Del. Elizabeth Guzman will give the Democrats’ official Spanish-language response, although it’s not clear how her message will differ from Kennedy’s.
But that’s not all. Vermont’s Independent Sen. Bernie. Sanders will be speaking off-the-cuff after the state of the union during a live streamed event on social media. Remember, Sanders isn’t an official member of the Democratic Party, so he’ll be going rogue as he did in 2017.
Former Maryland congresswoman and candidate in the Prince George’s County executive race, Donna F. Edwards will speak on behalf of the Working Families Party after Sanders.
If you’re still alive and somehow clamoring for even more, the ever-entertaining California Congresswoman Maxine Waters will also be speaking at the beginning of a special BET News special entitled “Angela Rye’s State of the Union.”
Finally, the so-called “People’s State of the Union,” hosted by liberal celebrities such as Michael Moore and Whoopi Goldberg will be Monday evening. Think of it as a warm up for the 48-hours of headache-causing hysteria.
Who knows, Democrats may surprise us with another retort. Has anyone talked to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lately? She’s probably not busy.
