Few places are as grime-filled as the mind of a rabid left-winger.
Conservative commentator Michael Goodwin received thousands of emails after President Trump mistakenly shared his email address while touting the author’s favorable New York Post column.
Titled “We’re still better off with Trump than Clinton,” Goodwin’s piece called Trump’s a “consequential presidency” marked by victories in the economy, the Supreme Court, and the Jerusalem move.
Goodwin explained that his phone exploded with email notifications Sunday night–a result of the president’s followers taking the email share as an invitation to get in touch with the columnist.
“E-mails were coming in by bunches of five or six at a time, so fast that the screen on my phone looked to be in perpetual motion as the new arrivals stacked on top of those that arrived a second earlier,” Goodwin recounted.
President Trump later deleted the original tweet and replaced it exchanged the email address for a link to the article.
Before the change occurred, Goodwin’s inbox was filled with over 2,000 emails–most of them negative.
“Please forward the full article that the dumbest president in the entire history of dumb states of America was alluding to in his recent tweet about himself,” wrote one man.
“Saw the pres wanted us all to email you to say you’re doing a really terrif job up there in new yark,” wrote another. “Hope they give you a big ass raise for making america grate again and again and again. Good job, Goodwin. (if your not a jew).”
One person urged Goodwin to commit suicide, writing “You are a bigger RETARD than Trump. Kill yourself.”
In addition to being called an immoral bigot and misogynist, the conservative figure was shocked to find himself the subject of homophobic slurs.
According to Goodwin, many anti-Trump messengers used explicit language to allege a sexual relationship between him and the president.
A number of the emails sent him pictures of penises. He was also subscribed to several gay websites.
“All of which struck me as mighty strange,” Goodwin mused. “Here are these so-called liberals who still think the greatest insult is to call someone gay. Their homophobia is out of the closet.”
He concluded:
“Then again, I guess it’s not that surprising. Trump Derangement Syndrome is proving that lots of supposedly sophisticated people are actually mindless idiots brimming with hatred.
“Thanks to Trump, we now know who they are. Count that as more proof his is an enormously consequential presidency.”
