Nicknames bestowed by President Trump have a way of sticking to their targets, for good or bad.
Trump peppered his presidential campaign with memorable tags like “crooked Hillary” aimed at his Democratic rival, failed nominee Hillary Clinton. During the GOP primary run, he dubbed Sen. Ted Cruz “lyin’ Ted Cruz.” And he has recently sparked liberal outrage and snickers from his supporters by labeling North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as “little rocket man.”
A Thursday night tweet by the president awarded former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon with the dubious honor of a new nickname as well.

Trump slammed his former staffer this week after derogatory quotes from an upcoming book were exposed, revealing that Bannon seemed to have effectively betrayed his friendship with the president.
“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Trump said in an official statement Wednesday.

Bannon, who returned to his previous post as Breitbart News executive chairman after leaving the White House in July, said he still supports the president “day in and day out” during a radio interview following the turn of events.
Twitter users were quick to get on board and celebrate the trending “Sloppy Steve” name.

Steve Bannon called Trump’s daughter dumb as a rock and Trump’s son unpatriotic and treasonous.
That is a huge red line that he decided to cross. Trump has returned the insult to Bannon calling him Sloppy Steve.
