Breitbart readers bail after Bannon betrays Trump: ‘It’s over … you’ve ruined your own brand’

Steve Bannon not only “lost his job” and “lost his mind” according to President Trump, he now is losing his audience.

Readers at Breitbart News, Bannon’s own news site, made it clear they were backing the president as they turned on the former White House Chief Strategist for betraying Trump with vicious comments in an upcoming book.

Bannon left a fiery trail with eye-popping quotes such as calling actions by the Trump campaign “treasonous” and “unpatriotic” and declaring, “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”

The president scorched his former staffer, stating he “has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”

Donald Trump Jr. fired back with his own response to Bannon, an “opportunist” who “squandered that privilege” of working in the White House.

It appears Bannon’s former supporters and readers of Breitbart agreed with the Trumps’ reactions, unloading on Twitter and the comments section at the conservative website’s Facebook page. And while Breitbart did report on the president’s statement, Trump Jr. noticed the chasm between the Bretibart readers and its CEO.

“Not sure what Bannon is trying to accomplish here but it only helps the democrats so what’s the point?” one comment on Facebook said.
