Dem Rep: Trump’s FBI attacks ‘the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant’

Alarmist, much?

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) accused President Trump on Tuesday of acting like a potential “tyrant” in his criticism of various government departments and agencies.

The president has blasted the FBI, Department of Justice, and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe over alleged pro-Hillary, anti-Trump bias.

On Tuesday, President Trump berated the FBI for using Fusion GPS’s Steele dossier as a basis to investigate the Trump campaign–even though most of the dossier remains unsubstantiated.

The president has spoken out against federal courts on occasions when his travel bans have been stricken down.

Speier told MSNBC’s Katy Tur she was troubled by President Trump’s comments, saying “I am concerned that the President of the United States is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the presidency.”

She continued:

“You’ve got him attacking the judiciary, you have him attacking the CIA, you have him attacking the Department of Justice, the FBI. I mean, this is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don’t step in and speak out against him.

“I think that he is being so unpresidential, and he is undermining the very foundation of this county and the institutions that we hold so dear and that are protected in the Constitution of the United States.”

The congresswoman made similar statements before, comparing the president to men like Vladimir Lenin and Josef Stalin.

Speier should try relaxing, easing up on the dystopian fiction, and brushing up on the Constitution.
