The reality Kate Steinle’s killer will go free sinks in and Americans are unloading over the injustice

On Thursday night, not only was Kate Steinle’s killer Jose Ines Garcia Zarate acquitted of homicide charges in a San Francisco court, he was also cleared of involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon.

Zarate, a 45-year-old illegal immigrant and felon who was deported five times, sparked a national firestorm over “sanctuary cities.” Steinle’s death constituted a significant part of the border security plank of Donald Trump’s presidential platform.

Trump supporters, fresh off the travesty of a Benghazi terror mastermind being cleared of murder charges, are incensed by the ruling.

Conservatives, Republicans, and other Americans are likewise bewildered by the unjust ruling, as can be shown by #KateSteinle being the number one trending topic on Twitter.

Unlike most conservative dominated causes, Twitter has not yet put Kate Steinle on stealth shut-down. No matter, social media platforms are not going to dictate Americans’ concern over Kate Steinle’s death, the sham ruling of a San Francisco court, or the border security issue.

After all this ugliness and heartbreak, let’s take a moment to remember what this issue is all about.

R.I.P., Kate Steinle.
