On Tuesday, the president unloaded with an a.m. salvo against a league he sees is continually disrespecting the United States:

Here is what the president wrote:

At least 24 players kneeling this weekend at NFL stadiums that are now having a very hard time filling up. The American public is fed up with the disrespect the NFL is paying to our Country, our Flag and our National Anthem. Weak and out of control!

As the Washington Times reported, Thanksgiving Day game ratings were truly down:

The early game, a matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings, saw its ratings fall 12.3 percent compared to last year’s Lions-Vikings game. The number is also down 7.3 from the Eagles-Lions in 2015. But the Vikings-Lions still drew an 11.3 rating.

The next game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers saw the biggest drop-off in one year. Cowboys-Chargers drew a 12.4 rating, but it was down nearly 20 percent from last year’s Redskins-Cowboys game.

Speaking of the Redskins, Sunday’s night snoozer with the New York Giants grabbed a 9.7 rating, down 10 percent — and nearly 34 percent from 2015.

Half-empty stadiums have been a recurrent theme for the NFL this year:

NFL merchandise sales are also reportedly down 20 percent.

The NFL allowing players to attack the values, identity, and pride in the country has already come back to bite it in terms of ratings. Now, it’s set to watch its holiday revenue shrink as long as the league lets the weekly disrespect continue.
