One of Barack Obama’s top White House advisers, Ben Rhodes, took to social media on Friday to side with ungrateful NFL players over President Donald Trump, insisting the president has done more to disrespect the country than the players.
Rhodes was responding to a tweet from Trump Friday about NFL players continuing to disrespect the national anthem. The president criticized NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, saying he “has lost control of the hemorrhaging league. Players are the boss!”
Talk about walking around with blinders on; Rhodes looked past the words and deeds of his former boss to turn the tables on the president: “Trump has done far more to disrespect our country and our flag than any football player, including these constant attacks on black athletes.”

This coming from a key ally to a man who stood out at a 2007 campaign event in Iowa as the only Democratic candidate not with his hand over his heart during the national anthem, as called for by the U.S. Flag Code.

The same man who opted NOT to wear an American flag pin that same year, saying it was “a substitute” for true patriotism — he later denied this, but even Obama-friendly PolitiFact gave him a “false” rating on the claim..
And how can we forget the immortal words of wife, Michelle Obama?
“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change,” the 44-year-old Mrs. Obama said in 2008.
