Jimmy Kimmel calls Don Jr an ‘idiot,’ then immediately challenges POTUS: I might turn him around

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel fired back at Donald Trump, Jr. after an extended Twitter war, then went on to challenge the President to appearance on his show, claiming he “could turn [Trump] around on a couple of things.”

It all began last Saturday, when Don Jr. responded to Kimmel’s jab at President Trump on Twitter. Don Jr. questioned why Kimmel hadn’t quickly denounced entertainment mogul Harvey Weinstein, who’s facing sexual harassment and rape accusations.

Kimmel continued the fight on ABC’s Good Morning America Friday when the topic of Don Jr. came up, as reported by the Washington Times.

Referring to President Trump’s oldest son, Kimmel said “He’s an idiot, let’s just start with that. This is an imbecile whose job seems to be tweeting as far as I can tell.”

Kimmel explained why he delayed his response to what has become one of the biggest scandals to shake Hollywood in recent years. “Harvey Weinstein is … not a friend of mine. I’m not in the movie business. And I’ll add that story came out, like, I think moments before we went to tape on Thursday, and we didn’t have a show on Friday.”

Whether it was because of a sense of detachment from the scandal or because he was off work, Kimmel’s temporary silence led to criticism–especially when a years-old video surfaced showing Kimmel making crude jokes full of sexual innuendo.

Interestingly, Kimmel went on in his Good Morning America interview to make an interesting challenge to the President.

“Maybe this is crazy, but I feel like I could turn him around on a couple of things,” he said. “I think he needs to be surrounded by better people. … I just think he’s changed positions so frequently.”

Kimmel went on to ask “I want to know what happened to the Donald Trump … who was a Democrat?”

However, the TV personality admitted the match-up likely won’t happen. “I would guess that he’s not planning to visit me anytime soon” he told the interviewer.

The former Man Show host may have his viewers believing he’s “America’s conscience,” but most Americans aren’t buying it.
