Talk about Trump Derangement Syndrome.
While presenting the trophy Sunday at the Presidents Cup golf tournament in New Jersey, President Donald Trump did the decent thing, he drew attention to the many victims of several recent hurricanes, to include Puerto Ricans currently dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
…and for that, the president was ridiculed unmercifully by his critics.
Trump, who is expected to travel to Puerto Rico on Tuesday, participated in the trophy ceremony and dedicated the win to the hurricane victims.
“On behalf of all of the people of Texas, and all of the people of — if you look today and see what is happening, how horrible it is, but we have it under really great control — Puerto Rico and the people of Florida who have really suffered over this short period of time with the hurricanes,” the president said.
“I want to just remember them, and we’re going to dedicate this trophy to all of those people that went through so much that we love, a part of our great states and a part of our great nation.”
And for THIS, the left criticized and ridiculed President Trump?
Congratulations to #TeamUSA???on your great @PresidentsCup victory! pic.twitter.com/fZeP1e9mo7

And Trump was equally criticized for his cameo at the tournament — he is the first sitting president to attend the event — but wasn’t the only president to participate.
Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton all took part in events earlier in the week, according to The Hill. After all, it IS the “Presidents Cup.”
But the ridicule flowed… even from major “news organizations.”

Even alleged “Republican” politicians got in on the deceptive mocking:
Lest anyone thinks its tradition for the US President to present the trophy at the President's Cup, Trump today became first POTUS to do so. pic.twitter.com/P3vwWaRpIt

Here’s a sampling of the hate that flowed freely, proving that no matter how well intended the president may be, or how hard he works to express empathy toward Americans during troubling times, the anti-Trump crowd isn’t about to cut him a break.
I actually can't think of a way this would be more ridiculous https://t.co/yXEWaOtjWA

Right now, millions of people in Puerto Rico can't find food or water.
Tonight, @POTUS dedicated a golf trophy to them. https://t.co/BOwFMIgXyj— Eric Holthaus (@EricHolthaus) October 2, 2017
I bet everyone who was critical of Trump’s response to Hurricane Maria is feeling silly now that he’s dedicated a golf trophy to victims!

Trump dedicates President's Cup to Puerto Rico, b/c, clearly, that Cup also turns into an endless fountain of badly needed drinking water.🙄

Get your priorities straight! No one in America cares about a damn trophy! Take care of the people first! Help Puerto Rico!!!! https://t.co/dyuhQgznRs

White House pool report says someone yelled "You don't give a shit about Puerto Rico!" at Trump during his golf trophy thing

And even though Geraldo Rivera is STILL looking for people dying, the anti-Trump Katrina-like narrative lives on:
