Don Lemon’s self-righteous ‘no American gets to tell another’ how to express patriotism rant is missing 2 BIG words

The words “at work” seem to be missing from every single liberal argument over the NFL “take a knee” protests.

What a false argument that leaves behind.

CNN’s Don Lemon was up on his left-wing soapbox Monday night reshaping President Donald Trump’s argument that it is not acceptable to disrespect the country by saying “no American gets to tell another” how to express their patriotism.

“Taking a knee is a constitutionally protected expression, it falls within league rules. Period,” Lemon said.

Never mind that, according to The Washington Post, the NFL’s game operations manual specifically requires players to appear on the field for the national anthem, standing at attention and holding their helmets in their left hands while remaining quiet.

Lemon also overlooks the fact that these millionaire players are making this “expression” while on the clock as employees of their respective teams. No one has ever denied the players’ right to “protest” on their own time, though that may require mingling with the great unwashed, sans the police protection they enjoy in NFL stadiums.

…as they protest police brutality.

Typical of a progressive, Lemon first shapes the argument from a liberal standpoint.

“Here is what this is about. It’s about focusing attention on racial injustice, focusing attention on racial injustice,” Lemon said. “It’s about challenging our country to extend the promise of that flag to all citizens, including the citizens whose ancestors were slaves.”

He then sets the rules on what is and is not acceptable.

“You may not agree with Colin Kaepernick or the scores of players who take a knee or took a knee this weekend,” Lemon preached. “And that is okay, you don’t have to agree with them.

“But that’s not really the point here. No American gets to tell another American how to express their love for this country.”

All of which makes one wonder just where Lemon was when the NFL opposed players wearing cleats to commemorate 9/11. Why do these players not have the same right of patriotic “expression?”

Or when a football coach was fired for praying on the field. What happened to his right of expression? And why wasn’t the hypocrite Lemon standing up for these rights?
