The race-baiting left is obsessed with color. Except for this time, it’s not skin color but hair color.
In an inane New York Magazine story, writer Amy Larocca insists Fox News channel is racist because it employs blonde TV hosts.
Predictably, Larocca blamed President Trump for the trend, which she called a “dog whistle” to racists because it exalts blonde hair. It bears noting that Trump’s wife, Melania, is a brunette. But why let facts get in the way of a media narrative?
“Fox News and Donald Trump have given blonde hair a new chapter,” Larocca wrote. “Now, blonde is the color of the right, for whom whiteness has become a hallmark.”
But what does that mean for celebrities like Beyonce, who wears blonde wigs but is celebrated as a beauty icon for black women? Is Beyonce secretly a white supremacist?
Spotlighting her own anti-blonde bigotry and aesthetic insecurities, Larocca bloviated:
And then, of course, there are the politics of hair color. Attributes associated with whiteness — light skin, narrow noses — have dominated American beauty ideals as long as there’s been such a thing.
To be blonde was to be a good American woman, pure of intention and heart — which implied also, of course, that to be a good American woman, pure of intention and heart, meant being blonde.
But #MAGA, Fox News America is a place where all the classic signifiers of privilege and wealth work on overdrive.

Using New York magazine’s reasoning, that would mean CNN is also racist. Because there’s a veritable blonde battalion on CNN’s roster of TV hosts and reporters.

The New York magazine puff piece came on the same day that Newsweek trashed Melania Trump and first daughter Ivanka Trump for wearing high heels, claiming it’s a symbol of female oppression by the Trump administration.

Where was Newsweek’s outrage when Michelle Obama wore high heels during her eight years as first lady?
Not surprisingly, the New York magazine piece calling Fox News racist for employing blondes was trashed on social media for its idiocy.
