Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer love to deceive the public and further their nefarious ends by invoking apocalyptic imagery. ‘People will die’ if such and such is or isn’t passed. ‘People will be hurt.’ ‘People will be tossed out on the streets to live on park benches and sidewalks’ … literally, because of this Republican bill or conservative policy. It’s a tried and true tactic, and sadly many Democratic voters fall for it.
But what if conservatives flipped the narrative right back on them for a change? What if we hit back just as hard by showcasing the people who will be and are currently TRULY hurt by liberal policies? President Trump has done that with some success by highlighting the victims of illegal immigrant crime and also with victims of Obamacare by standing in front of several for a speech on the subject.
So when Schumer stood on the Senate floor to decry the possibility of President Trump halting Obamacare subsidies to force Democrats to the negotiation table with tales of woe and insults to the president, Fox News host and contributor Kennedy was quick to use the same tactic on Wednesday’s edition of Outnumbered.
“Why would he do this?” Schumer said from the Senate floor. “Why would he raise people’s rates? Why his only stated reason is petty, is childish, is unpresidential. You don’t hurt innocent people, Mr. President, when you lose politically. That is not presidential. That is not frankly what an adult does.”
At which point Kennedy jumped in to ask:
“Does he carve out time in each day just to flap his gums? Cause that’s all he does. Whenever we see Chuck Schumer [Kennedy mimicking intelligible talking noises], you can turn the sound down and insert your own soundtrack – he’d be saying the same thing.”
“You know what hurts?” Kennedy asked, jumping to the real root of the problem and putting the heat back on Schumer and the Democrats. “You know what’s unpresidential? Crafting a law that’s so complex it’s impossible to get rid of, that’s designed to fail, so people lose insurance and more people start dying. That’s what’s unpresidential. That’s what’s immoral.”
