If you thought there was a realm of decency beyond which even the likes of MSNBC wouldn’t gladly tread when it comes to hating on President Trump, you’d best think again.
Because one of their analysts just compared the president to a … suicide bomber.
During a Thursday morning appearance on MSNBC Live, network political analyst Elise Jordan made the comment after host Craig Melvin asked her about the president’s tweets regarding the existence of actual recordings of his conversations with former F.B.I. Director James Comey.
“Earlier in the broadcast, I said the president was bluffing,” said Melvin, regarding Trump’s earlier hints about the recordings. “I may have been, perhaps, too fair. It would seem as if the president may have been lying all along about the existence of these tapes.”
“No,” Elise Jordan responded, “he’s just wasting, he wasted the country’s collective time speculating over whether these tapes existed or not. It’s a sad day when you cannot depend on the president’s word. My advice would just be to Republicans who do cozy up to him. It’s just like hugging a suicide bomber. He blows you up in the process with him.”
Except, of course, President Trump didn’t actually ever say he had made such recordings or even that they existed, only that Comey “better hope” such tapes don’t exist.
Even Melvin called Jordan’s comments “a little strong,” to which Jordan replied: “This is not … if you go out on the limb, if you’re a Republican who went out on a limb and defended Donald Trump over saying, ‘Well he’s got tapes that are going to back up his point of view,’ you just got burned up, too.”
The thing is, it’s the media who has been hyperventilating for months about the bogus supposed ‘Russian connections’ to the Trump campaign. So if they allowed the president to masterfully troll them, it’s on them, not him!
