Sean Hannity counts down to his own blistering monologue of James Comey – and for good reason

Mintues before it was to air, Fox News host Sean Hannity promised his followers that he would deliver a blockbuster opening monologue Thursday night.

And he kept his promise.

Responding to former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier that day, Hannity argued that “Comey failed … the American people at every turn” and called him “nothing more than a partisan and a political hack.”

Hannity told his viewers that Comey’s testimony confirmed that President Trump encouraged — not obstructed — the agency’s investigation into alleged Russian connections with his campaign.

Why did he only say this today?” Hannity asked. “Why couldn’t the FBI director have come out sooner?”

That was also a question on the mind of Sen. Marco Rubio, the junior Republican senator from Florida.

The Fox News personality added that if Comey’s testimony outed anyone as a wrongdoer, that person was the former FBI chief himself when he admitted to leaking information to The New York Times.

“Whatever so-called champion of law and justice would ever do that to the president of the United States?” Hannity said.

Hannity also observed that Comey meekly complied with then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s request that he refer to the agency’s probe into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal as a “matter” rather than an “investigation.”

“He failed you, the American people, at every single turn,” Hannity concluded, by creating a “two-tier justice system” — one for Clinton and another for the American people.

“He started to play politics instead of doing his job,” he said. “Sadly, James Comey is nothing more than a partisan and a political hack.”
