“Oh, the shame of not wanting to honor a terrorist.”
The New York City Council wants to throw a parade for a terrorist, and can’t figure out why people are upset!

During the closing days of his administration, former President Obama commuted the sentence of FALN terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera, who was convicted for his role in multiple bombings throughout the United States.
Now he’s being honored as a “National Freedom Hero” by the city of New York, and New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito complained that “ultra-right-wing forces” in Puerto Rico want to undermine the activity.
“A lot of the campaign putting pressure on the sponsors to withdraw… is being manipulated and organized and orchestrated from an ultra-right wing element on the island [of Puerto Rico],” Mark-Viverito said as reported by Fox News.
Joseph Connor, whose father was killed by one of Lopez Rivera’s bombs, appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” Sunday.
“He’ going to be leading the parade as a symbol of freedom,” he told “Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade. “And he’s a terrorist.”
He added that because of the uproar over the parade and its honoree, sponsors are turning their backs to the event and politicians are distancing themselves.
“[U.S. Sen.] Chuck Schumer said he’s going to be traveling that day, the police commissioner has dropped out, several of the police and fire unions have dropped out,” Connor told Kilmeade.
The terrorist had neither regrets nor apologies for his activities that took innocent lives.
“[Lopez Rivera] said when he went out to the parole hearing, if you’re looking for someone to apologize, you came to the wrong guy,” Connor said.
Council speaker Mark-Viverito campaigned for the former FALN leader’s early release.

Contrary to Mark-Viverito’s public statement, it’s not ultra-right wing forces in Puerto Rico that are raining on her parade — it’s ordinary people who can distinguish wrong from right.

And just as sponsors and politicians are washing their hands on the parade, others are doing the same of Mark-Viverito.
