On Friday, Rand Paul told a gaggle of reporters that he submitted a formal request to the White House and the Intelligence Committee for more information on whether or not the Obama administration ever surveilled him personally.
“I have formally requested from the WH and the Intel Committees info on whether I was surveilled by Obama admin and or the Intel community!” Paul tweeted out on Friday morning.

In a series of tweets just before that, Paul asked: “Did the Obama admin go after presidential candidates, members of Congress, journalists, clergy, lawyers, fed judges? and “Did the Obama admin use warrantless ‘wiretapping’ on other candidates besides @realDonaldTrump?”

Paul’s remarks stemmed from president Trump’s claims on March 4 that the Obama administration wiretapped Trump Tower in New York during the presidential campaign and transition.
On April 3, a bombshell report from Bloomberg revealed that White House lawyers were aware that Susan Rice, the former national security adviser to Obama, was in fact responsible for unmasking the identities of U.S. persons associated with the Trump campaign.
“Officials also searched for the contents of communications of 5,288 Americans, a major increase from the 198 searched for in 2013,” Sabia added.

The presidents claim was called “baseless” in the beginning, but has quickly gained merit as more details are made public. The information released thus far is severe enough that Rand Paul is gearing up to expose all of the Obama administration’s dirty secrets.
