Sean Spicer zings press with one heck of a response to adequate Michael Flynn vetting

Thanks, Obama!

Democrats and media outlets are still trying to find something — anything — to tie President Donald Trump‘s administration to Russian influence, and their latest vehicle is Gen. Michael Flynn, Trump’s short-lived national security advisor.

Flynn was forced to resign his position after having served for about three weeks after it was learned that he’d misled Vice President Mike Pence about communications he’d had with the Russian ambassador.

Since his February 13 resignation, the Defense Department’s Inspector General reported that in 2015, Flynn accepted funds from the Russian-owned news media outlet, Russia Today.

That payment prompted a reporter to ask at Thursday’s daily briefing whether White House press secretary Sean Spicer was satisfied with the vetting Flynn was subjected to by the Trump administration.

Spicer replied that Flynn’s career military status required that he maintain a high level security clearance.

“His clearance was last reissued by the Obama administration in 2016 with full knowledge of his activities in 2015,” he continued.

Boom! He got Spiced! Go take it up with the guy accepting $400,000 Wall Street speaking engagements.
