Mika pummeled all over again after she fervently responds to ‘media mind control’ blunder

Mika now insists the media doesn’t want to control your mind, but who’s buying?

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski was in a bit of hot water over a slip of the tongue that revealed what many believe the media thinks of themselves.

In a conversation with Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday, Brzezinski related her thoughts on the topic of President Trump’s denigration of the media and the possibility that a significant percentage of Americans might bypass the media altogether and, horror of horrors, listen to their president.

“[Trump] is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts,” Brzezinski said. “And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.”

Later on Wednesday, Brzezinski tweeted a couple of clarifications to her earlier statements:

No, it’s not obvious from the transcript, even if it wasn’t what she had meant to say. Out loud, anyway.

Here is the transcript as taken from Newbsuters, a branch of the Media Research Center:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Well, I think that the dangerous edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts and could be while unemployment and the economy worsens he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that is–that is our job.

And again, for a growing number of media-skeptics it’s exactly what they believe those in the mainstream media believe about themselves.

So, call it a misspeak or a Freudian slip, it was said and received as truth.

Brzezinki’s agitation over the matter only seemed to irk media critics more:

Interestingly, it was Mika herself who essentially “banned” Kellyanne Conway from her show for her own misstatements.
