CNN spoke with and protected the identities of terrorists in a story on how President Donald Trump’s travel ban will actually help ISIS recruiters.
The story, published Monday, refers to “former jihadists” who spoke to CNN about how Trump’s executive order temporarily halting immigration from seven countries will give a “major propaganda boost” to ISIS.

“It can play into their propaganda, to make it clear for anyone who could be in doubt, that it’s a war on Islam and all Muslims,” former jihadi Abu Abdullah reportedly told CNN over a messaging service.
CNN noted in the story that the “names of the now-defected foreign fighters in this story have been changed to protect their identities.”
Abu Obaida, a British former Jabhat al-Nusra fighter in Syria, also spoke to CNN via direct message.
[Trump’s] helped ISIS a lot, he’s basically being a tool for them in a way,” Obaida said. “On social media right now there’s a lot of people quoting Anwar al-Awlaki (the late spokesperson for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula) and his last speech when he said that America will turn on the Muslims.”
The CNN story further referred to social media conversations with “various jihadists” who claimed that Trump’s ban was being hailed by sympathizers of the militant group.
Though it’s not clear how CNN was able to determine if the”now-defected foreign fighters” had left the terrorist life behind, it seemed ok with the idea of quoting them and protecting their identities in condemning Trump’s order.
Over at MSNBC, Chris Matthews joined the Trump-bashing, calling the temporary halt to immigrants from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia a declaration of “war between east and west.”
“Everyone in the world knows it’s directed at people of one religion. Our friends know and are hurt by it in so many ways. Our enemies know and are excited by it knowing it will humiliate our friends, will stir terrorist recruitment around the world and trigger others to radicalize,” Matthews announced during Monday’s airing of “Hardball.”
“We’re all crusaders now,” Mathews said, questioning whether America’s enemies welcome the idea that “your number one enemy in the world has just done you the favor of declaring this a war between east and west.”
“Isn’t this what you dream of?” he asked.
Amazing how the left wing media would rather be a mouthpiece for the views of radical Islamic terrorists than support and defend the President of the United States in his efforts to protect Americans.
