Majority of voters comfortable with Republicans in power, Rasmussen reports

A majority of voters reported they felt comfortable under Republican rule, according to a Sunday poll released by Rasmussen.

Fifty-five percent of voters reported they felt comfortable with one political party in the White House, in addition to both chambers of Congress. Only 39 percent of voters reported they weren’t comfortable, and preferred the branches of government to be controlled by differing parties. Twenty percent reported they were not at all comfortable with the current state of government.

A CNN/ORC poll published Sunday revealed only 40 percent of Americans think that Republican President-elect Donald Trump has a mandate from the American people to pursue his agenda during his term in the White House, compared to 53 percent of voters who reported the loss of the popular vote means he should do more to reach out to Democratic voters.

The Rasmussen poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters, and ran from Nov. 17 through Nov. 20. The poll included a margin of error of 3 percentage points in either direction.
