Trey Gowdy vs Ted Cruz for Supreme Court: take our POLL here
With President-elect Donald Trump positioning himself to take the reins of power in America, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy warned Democrats that they may not always benefit from President Barack Obama’s failure to enforce the law.
Speaking at a House Judiciary Committee hearing in February 2015 about Obama’s executive action on immigration, the South Carolina Republican promised his Democratic colleagues that a new day would come.
“I’ll make you this promise,” Gowdy cautioned. “There will come a day where you will cry out for the enforcement of the law. There will come a day when you long for the law to be the foundation of this republic.”
Of course, with Gowdy’s name on the short list of potential Supreme Court nominees, Democrats may soon have a greater reason to cry out.
