The tentacles of the Clinton family’s corruption stretch long and wide.
Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik sent a letter to Democratic congressional leaders Monday reassuring them that the relaunch of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton‘s email scandal will be wrapped up shortly.
Kadzik, who drafted the letter, which appears to indicate that he is either affiliated with the investigation or has inside information on it, is a longtime friend of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
One letter was sent to Reps. Elijah Cummings, John Conyers, and to Sen. Patrick Leahey, each containing the identical wording, assuring them that the DOJ “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible.”
As the director of the Justice Department’s office of legislative affairs, Kadzik is unlikely to have any direct involvement with the investigation, but according to the Daily Caller, He does, though, have the power to deny a request for a special prosecutor, as he did last November.
This has raised concerns given that many past Podesta emails published by WikiLeaks indicate that he and Kadzik enjoy a warm relationship.
In one email from late 2015, Kadzik confirms a dinner invitation at the Podesta home.
And another from this year confirm another dinner engagement.
And a third, this one from Kadzik’s child PJ and addressed to Podesta, indicated a desire to work on a political campaign.
A 2002 House Oversight Committee report described Kadzik as a “long-time friend” of Podesta’s, and the campaign chairman, in turn, described Kadzik as a “fantastic lawyer” who “kept me out of jail,” according to The Daily Caller.
