Fox News host Megyn Kelly got a good dose of the Newt Gingrich temper when she challenged him Tuesday night on the notion that the Republican Party had nominated the wrong persons in Donald Trump.
When Kelly pushed the former U.S. House speaker on Trump’s standing in the polls, Gingrich replied that Republicans are outnumbering Democrats in early voting in battleground states Florida and Pennsylvania.

In the midst of Gingrich’s explanation, Kelly interrupted him.
“Do you predict a win in Pennsylvania?”
“I think they might,” Gingrich said.
“Really?” Kelly interrupted again. “You think Trump’s going to win Pennsylvania,” she pressed.

Much of the seven-minute-plus interview proceeded like this, with the Fox News host interrupting and challenging Gingrich at every turn.
Kelly pointed out poll after poll predicting a Clinton win with one state after another moving to the left.
“I don’t take polls as seriously as people who haven’t run for office,” Gingrich replied, and added that when push comes to shove, the electorate will turn its back on Clinton because of her corruption.
Kelly brought up what she saw as the reason Trump was falling behind in the polls — alleged acts of misconduct directed toward women.
“I get it, I know where you’re coming from,” Gingrich said, his dander beginning to raise.
“If Donald Trump is a sexual predator, that is–”
“He’s not a sexual predator,” Gingrich interrupted.
“I’m sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory that’s not true!… When you use the words, you took a position. And I think it’s very unfair of you to do that, Megyn!”
At that point Kelly remarked that the speaker’s defensiveness “may speak volumes.”
“You wanna go back through the tapes of your show recently?” Gingrich shot back. “You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy! That’s what I get out of watching you tonight!”
