While pollster Frank Luntz thought Donald Trump’s debate performance Sunday night was a turning point for the Republican nominee, British Trump supporter Nigel Farage had a more descriptive description for him.
He likened Trump to a “silverback gorilla.”
The outgoing head of the U.K. Independence Party (UKIP) made his post-debate appraisal in the spin room at St. Louis, Missouri when asked.
“He took control,” Farage said. “He dominated Hillary Clinton.”

When BuzzFeed’s Ben Smith asked the Brit to elaborate, Farage called Trump “that big alpha male — that’s who he is.”
He added that, “We all have comparisons to animals.”

When Smith asked Farage what his animal was he replied that he hadn’t “worked it out yet.”
Farage should know something about alpha males — he was one of the guiding forces behind Britain’s departure from the European Union — commonly called Brexit.
But the real question is what was Clinton’s animal identity Sunday night. Any ideas?
