Hillary being serenaded by Mary J. Blige could be the most deliciously awkward thing you’ll see all year

Apple Music attempted to announce an upcoming show from Mary J. Blige with a teaser video featuring the multi-platinum artist and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

But the video may not have had the effect intended.

The video clip, released Monday to promote Blige’s Beats 1 radio show “The 411” airing on Friday, promises an “intimate conversation” between the two women. But as Blige sang Bruce Springsteen’s “American Skin” as part of an interview on police brutality, Clinton doesn’t say a word in the edited video. She is only seen silently nodding along, giving the video an awkwardness that was not hard to miss.

A second clip released by Apple again does not feature a single word from Clinton. Instead, Blige is shown asking Clinton how she would deal with Congress and then tells her that she’s going “to share something with you that I haven’t shared with anyone.”

Social media users were understandably confused by the odd video clips. And Blige lashed back at the comments in a tweet that was later removed.
