Border Patrol says ‘we’re just a welcoming crew’ as illegals name-drop: ‘Obama said it’s okay to come’

As President Obama looks to fill the country with illegal immigrants before he leaves office, his message is apparently getting out there.

In a special report on the border crisis last month, KUSI News revealed that nine out of ten people who cross the California border illegally from Mexico are released back onto San Diego’s streets. The shortage of border patrol agents is not at the root of the problem, however, according to KUSI.

“When we ask people why they’re coming here, the answer is invariably the same,” Chris Harris from the National Border Patrol Council said.

“And it’s not the president, they actually say Obama said it was okay to come. So there’s a belief that they will remain. And the belief is true.”

When the illegal immigrants claim political asylum, they are processed and released – in to the U.S., KUSI reported.

“In a way, we’re just a welcoming crew,” Harris said, noting that all the fences and agents, and even a great wall, will accomplish nothing if the policies from Washington do not change.

“One of the things we actually absolutely have to have,” Harris said, “is for the president of the United States and the secretary of Homeland Security to come out and say ‘Look, this is a treasured system. It’s being abused. It’s going to stop today.'”

It doesn’t look like that will be happening on Obama’s watch.
