When a short clip of musician and actor Ice Cube complimenting Donald Trump was used on social media to indicate an endorsement of the Republican presidential candidate, the rapper got a bit unglued, and announced in no uncertain terms that he would never endorse him.
His remarks were made during a Bloomberg Politics “With All Due Respect” interview, conducted by John Heilemann.
A Twitter user with the handle Trump News Global tweeted:

But the rapper talked about many subjects during his 18-plus-minute interview last April, including hip-hop music, the Black Lives Matter movement and Hillary Clinton — and he didn’t actually endorse anyone.
He did, however, offer some compliments to Trump.
“Donald Trump is what Americans aspire to be,” he told Bloomberg’s Heilemann, because his wealth and power represent the American dream.
“He looks like a boss to everybody and Americans love to have a boss, so that’s his appeal to me,” Ice Cube said.
In less than four hours after Trump News Global’s tweet hit social media, the rapper turned actor, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson, fired back with one of his own.
“I will never endorse a mothaf—a like Donald Trump! EVER!!!”
Trump has been reaching out to the African-American community by pointing out that the Democratic Party has been holding minorities back and has taken their votes for granted.
Surprisingly, rather than applauding the Republican nominee’s outreach, mainstream media has denounced it as “the most horrible type of bigotry.”
MSNBC host Joy Reid blasted a recent guest, a black pastor, for his support of Trump.
Despite the criticism, the outreach seems to be taking hold. Black clergyman Mark Burns described a meeting earlier this week of minority leaders with Trump to Fox Business Network’s Stuart Varney.
“It was absolutely a unified front,” he told Varney. “To see these young men and women — African-American and Hispanics — voicing their opinions and giving solutions for Mr. Trump to continue to echo unification within this country.”
