Is New York Knicks star basketball player Carmelo Anthony a Donald Trump fan? It sure sounded that way Sunday afternoon.
After the United States Olympic basketball team took home the gold for the third straight time, Anthony, who was a member of the U.S. team, said something very Trumpesque.
“In spite of everything that’s going on right now in our country, we gotta be united,” Anthony said during an interview after the U.S. team defeated Serbia, 96-66. “I’m glad I did what I did, I stepped up to the challenge. This is what it’s about, representing our country on the biggest stage that you can be on.”
And it was at that point he seemed to play on the Trump campaign’s slogan.
“America will be great again, I believe that. We got a lot of work to do, but it’s one step at a time and I’m glad we represented in the fashion that we did.”
