Republican emails targeted by DCLeaks; Dems are not the only ones exposed

Email hackers are spreading their wings and targeting some Republicans.

A hacking group linked to emails leaked from the Democratic Party is releasing emails from Republicans and state GOP staffers.

Emails from U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and state GOP officials are showing up on the website DCLeaks, which purports to be “a new level project aimed to analyze and publish a large amount of emails from top-ranking officials and their influence agents all over the world,” according to its website.

Most of the emails show constituent email addresses and appear “to be responses to mass-emails from concerned party supporters writing in to their delegates,”The Hill reported.

One reply to a Stop Hillary PAC fundraising email targeting Democrats lack of support for the Benghazi commission reads, “Don’t the Republicans have a majority in Congress? Isn’t John Boehner a Republican? What is the problem that you need my $36 to help you fight back,” The Hill reported Friday.

DCLeaks is one of 14 sites registered since 2013 by THC Servers, according to the Hill, and has been connected with Russian hackers suspected of being behind the leaked emails from the Democratic National Committee. The leaks ultimately brought down former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida.
