‘It’s a bitter pill to swallow’: At least one Bush finally comes out for Trump

All things shall come to pass… including a member of the Bush family supporting Donald Trump for president.

Speaking in his capacity as the Texas GOP’s victory chairman, Land Commissioner George P. Bush told a group of GOP activists it’s time to set aside individual differences and get behind the party’s presidential nominee, the Texas Tribune reported.

…the same man who soundly defeated his father, Jeb Bush, in the primary.

“From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton,” Bush said.

Considering Bush was at a meeting of the State Republican Executive Committee and county chairs, as the Tribune noted, he could hardly say otherwise.

Still, this makes him the most prominent member of the Bush family to publicly back Trump.

Since the end of a bitter, hard-fought primary, Bush’s father has withheld his support for Trump, as has former President George W. Bush and former President George H.W. Bush.
