Illegal immigrants are receiving billions in welfare programs like food stamps, even though their immigration status is supposed to block them from federal programs like this.
According to a report by the Washington Examiner, illegal immigrants in the country are getting about $1.4 billion to $2.1 billion a year in food stamps.
To add insult to injury, households with illegal immigrants are vastly favored under the food stamp program over households with US citizens.
Approximately 460,000 to 700,000 with a mix of legal and illegal households in the country are operating on the food stamp program, with monthly payouts to these households being roughly $255 per month.
Average US citizen families of three can receive more than $2,177, but households with illegal immigrants can receive even more than that, the report found.
