It took 7 years, but California just proved every single conservative critic right about Obamacare

Remember “you lie!”? That’s right, that time Representative Joe Wilson called bs at Obama’s State of the Union address in 2009 when the president stood up and declared that illegal aliens wouldn’t be getting Obamacare?

Well, it didn’t take Wilson or any other conservative critic a crystal ball to see that Democrats would be eager to dole out American taxpayer money to illegal aliens, even as the Justice Dept. worked fastidiously to undermine safeguards against illegals voting–like voter IDs. (And yes, illegal aliens do play a major factor in many elections.)

On Thursday, the California state Senate passed a bill that would make it the first state to allow illegal immigrants, yes ILLEGAL immigrants, to purchase Obamacare plans.

Although the Affordable Care Act currently doesn’t technically allow illegals to purchase the plans, the Golden State is seeking something called a 1332 waiver, a petition to the federal government that would allow illegal immigrants to purchase plans directly through Covered California, the state’s Obamacare marketplace, instead of private insurers.

No, at this point they still couldn’t get federal subsidies, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what’s coming down the pike, especially considering this is California we’re talking about.

Anthony Wright, director of consumer advocacy group Health Access California, is a big fan of bill.

“Covered California should be able to live up to its name and serve all Californians, regardless of immigration status. People who have different viewpoints on immigration policy can come together in recognition that it is everyone’s interest to connect as many Californians with coverage, and prevent the health and financial issues for not just uninsured families but the community as a whole.”

This is merely the next step in the long, inevitable road to financial and social ruin for California. Last month, the state expanded their low-income insurance program, Medi-Cal, to include the children of immigrants.

And to top it all off, these bills are passing with bipartisan support in both Houses, which brings up the legitimate question – is California another country?

The end game? Add tens of millions to the taxpayer dime and to the voter rolls in order to lock in a permanent Democratic majority. Kind of like in California, which has become the coughing, spluttering canary in a coalmine for progressive causes.
