What’s a few billion between friends? Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner and on-again off-again friend of Republican nominee Donald Trump is, according to the most recent Forbes rankings, the world’s 527th richest person, to the tune of $3.2 billion.

However, in a recent appearance on 77 WABC’s “Bernie and Sid,” the “Shark Tank” star didn’t just call Trump’s assessment of his own wealth into question (the Republican nominee claims to be worth upwards of $10 billion), Cuban wondered if Trump is even a billionaire at all.

“I’m not so sure Donald knows what he’s not good at. What he’s done well is put his name on big buildings, right? He appears to have done well putting his name through a licensing arrangement on hotels and buildings. He’s good at that. Now, whether or not that’s made him a billionaire, I don’t know,” Cuban said.

Cuban thinks Trump’s “lack of transparency” makes it hard to know his real net worth. Although Trump did file a financial-disclosure form with the Federal Election Commission, he has repeatedly refused to release his tax returns, citing an ongoing IRS audit. Cuban has reviewed the public forms, and while he does consider Trump a solid real estate developer, he “wasn’t very good at brands for non-real estate products,” and even called some of Trump’s deals “desperate.”

“So when you’re putting your name on steaks, and you’re putting your name on water, you’re putting your name on playing cards, you’re putting your name on all this nonsense, right? You’re not gonna make big bucks, no matter what. It’s not like Trump Steaks were gonna make him $100 million. It’s not like it was gonna make him $5 million.”

The problem with both Donald Trump’s claims and Mark Cuban’s skepticism is the fact that Forbes actually interviewed over 80 sources and devoted “unprecedented resources” just to try to get at least in the ballpark of Trump’s actual wealth.

So, what is Donald Trump actually worth?

Forbes, the experts on this sort of thing, has him listed at $4.5 billion, #324 in the world.

The question is, do Americans care whether the populist Republican nominee is worth $10 billion or $4.5 billion, or whether or not Donald Trump knows how to build things … like that big beautiful wall he’s been talking so much about.
